LIVER SERIES: PART 5

//LIVER SERIES// PART 5:
//THE LIVER OPENS INTO THE EYES//
The eye is the sense organ connected to the Liver. It is the nourishment and moistening of Liver-Blood that gives the eyes the capacity to see. If Liver-Blood is lacking there may be blurred vision, "floaters" in the eyes, color blindness or they may feel dry and gritty. Aside from the Liver, many other organs affect the eyes in particular the heart, kidneys, lungs, gall bladder, bladder and small intestine.

//THE LIVER CONTROLS THE TEARS//
Tears are a fluid related to the Liver. In particular the basal tears (which lubricates the eyes) and the reflex tears (which occur when a foreign body enters the eyes) are related to the Liver (rather than the emotional tears). Thus a deficiency of Liver-Blood or Liver-Yin may cause dryness of eyes [in nature, blood is Yin - refer to the post on Yin and Yang for more info].
